This Mother’s Day, Mom Eats Free!

Happy Friday, everyone! This weekend is set to be absolutely beautiful and Sunday is Mother’s Day, to boot! I hope you have something awesome in store for your mom. And I hope you didn’t spend a lot of money. Because moms absolutely do not want you to spend your money; they spent their entire parenting lives trying to get you to save it! Whenever I ask my mom what she wants for Mother’s day (or her birthday, or Christmas), her answer is always the same:

“Don’t spend your money, Elizabeth.”

I probably will end up spending some money on mom, but I do know that moms just want a little love and quality time on Mother’s Day. And, oh, yes, free food. Free food never hurts. Here’s a list of restaurants where you can treat mom to some free grub this holiday. Pay attention; these deals are hot!

FREE yogurt at TCBY: Any mom who heads to TCBY this Mother’s Day will receive a free 6 oz. frozen yogurt.

SnipSnap DIY: Update Your Old (Boring) Ikea Table for Less Than $15

I’m completely┬ádependent on frugal fashion, craft, and DIY blogs. (Hello, Pinterest!) It comes with the couponing territory: once you discover how to eat, dress, and craft for (almost) free, you become addicted. Because I’m sort of in spring cleaning mode, I’m extra excited about DIY home decorating deals. Today I stumbled across this basic IKEA coffee table rejuvenation project by Erika Tapia Schrieber of The Fab and Frugal. The whole, 7-step process transforms one of those boring old college dorm coffee tables into a sleek character piece for your more mature self.

Best of all? All you need to make the table is faux leather, foam, and a lightweight staple gun. You should be able to purchase the fabric at Jo-Ann Fabric for under 15 bucks, but if you SnipSnap this coupon, you’ll save 50%!
