John Hunchar

Lead Android Developer
BIO

Born and raised on the east coast, John found his way into the Philadelphia start-up scene as a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, where he co-founded an action sports/music technology company. Following this entrepreneurial endeavor, he worked as a software consultant but soon followed his heart back to the Philadelphia start-up scene where his software career began — joining an all-star cast at SnipSnap as the lead Android developer. He spends his free time chasing snow and ice — snowboarding east coast slopes and playing ice hockey whenever he can.

The program provides seed funding and mentorship, and works to help turn back-of-the-napkin ideas like SnipSnap into fully realized companies. We were part of the Fall 2011 program, along with other startups such as CloudMine, ElectNext, and Grassroots Unwired.
