Okay, okay, so the celebration is officially “National Coffee Day” and it’s not until September 29, but that hasn’t stopped coffee makers and drinkers from partying all week long. National Coffee Day is all about celebrating that thing that gets us out of bed to do stuff every day. It’s about raising awareness and promoting fair trade coffee. It’s about getting one of the best things in life for free.
Did you know coffee made its grand debut in what’s now New York way back in the mid-1660s? It wasn’t such a big hit at first, since early colonists already had kind of a thing for tea. But the tea tax revolt known as the Boston Tea Party changed all that and, soon after, coffee became America’s drink. Take a sip this Saturday, and you’ll taste freedom.
Here’s how/where to get coffee for free this week:

7-Eleven: Friday, September 28 is 7-Eleven’s “Coffree Day” and, if you visit between 6-10 AM, you’ll get a free large 20 oz. coffee in the election cup of your choice. I love it!
