Hey, Ibotta users. Now’s the time to get the new Ibotta update, because it’s filled with new items and a few high-value exclusives in honor of Election Night. (New to Ibotta? It’s the iPhone app that gives you cash back on qualifying items at Target, Walgreens, and Walmart. Read my full review here.)
The best part of the new update? You can now refer friends via Facebook and Twitter. When your friends join Ibotta through your referral link, you’ll earn $1 per friend once you’ve both redeemed your first Ibotta item. While I’m pretty psyched to have essentially unlimited referral opportunities now through Twitter, I wish Ibotta would tweak its Facebook referral option to allow users to tailor invitations to include select friends only. As is, your Ibotta referral link just posts to your wall.
The new Ibotta is filled with new offers, plus 4 short-acting Election Night offers that expire Sunday. I’m not blown away by these Election night deals; they’re pretty typical of Ibotta offers, but they’re there nonetheless. It’s also a little tricky to find these limited edition deals. (You have to tap “Sort” in the upper left-hand corner of the “Offers” screen and then select “Special Offers.”)
I am excited about the rest of the updated Ibotta offers. There are tons of high-value rebates (up to $1.75) on haircare, toothpaste, cold medicine and coffee. I’ve noticed an overwhelming majority of beverage offers in this batch of savings, but I’m okay with that, because they’re good for stuff just about everybody drinks.
Have issues redeeming and getting credit for your offers? Ibotta still seems to be ironing out some kinks, but it has a great customer service team, and problems are fixed pretty promptly. I’m still in awe of how easy it is to get a lot of these items for essentially almost nothing, by combing Ibotta cash back with Target store coupons and Target manufacturer coupons. Right now you should be able to combine printable coupons, like this one for creamer, with current Ibotta deals.
