It’s Thursday! Which means it’s almost Friday! If you’re heading out to unwind this Friday night, TGI Fridays is an obvious choice. Right now, there are two pretty sweet TGI Fridays coupons in the SnipSnap app: one for 20% off your total order and one for $5 off your total order (which you choose to redeem is, of course, dependent on how much you plan to spend).
What’s the best part about TGI Fridays (aside from coupons)? Jack Daniels sauce! I have a mild to moderate addiction to TGI Fridays’ signature smoky, sweet, savory glaze; it got to the point a few years ago that I used to beg my server to let me take a plastic container of extra glaze home with me every time I ate out. Since that is awkward, and since eating out a lot can get a little pricey, I’m very happy to have discovered this DIY Jack Daniels sauce recipe, created by Crystal from Mrs Happy Homemaker:
Doesn’t that look insanely good? Here are the ingredients:
- 1 head of garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 heaping tablespoons minced white onion
- 1 tablespoon Jack Daniels whiskey
- 1 heaping tablespoon crushed pineapple
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
As you can see, nearly every ingredient is something you probably already have in your kitchen! I’m pretty sure Jack Daniels sauce makes even a mediocre meal spectacular, so, now you have your own frugal secret sauce recipe. You’re welcome.
