Happy Friday, everyone! It’s rainy where I am today, so I’m thinking about heading to the movies. I’m sort of torn between It’s a Disaster and Disconnect. I’m not torn about what theater to go to. I’ve snipped three different popcorn coupons to three different theaters. One coupon will buy me popcorn for free.
Right now in the SnipSnap app, you can find a coupon for a completely free popcorn (no purchase necessary) at AMC theaters (valid April 12-15). You can also find a coupon for $2 off any size popcorn with the purchase of any drink at Cinemark (valid through April 17), and a coupon for $3 off any popcorn at Regal (valid through April 14).
Want more tips on how to save at the movie theater? Not Worth Admission is a great movie review blog run by Mike and Erica; the duo sees a lot of movies and regularly posts reviews (from the guy and the girl perspective) to help you make decisions about what you want to see. They also wrote this post about how to cut your expenses when you see a movie in theaters.
Want even more movie theater money saving tips? Stephanie from Couponing 101 wrote a great post on how she saves when there’s a movie she wants to see. Couponing 101 is a really fantastic resource if you’re new to couponing and want some beginner tips (plus, there is an awesome recipe section and plenty of tips and coupons to help you save on fresh, organic food).
Karrie from Happy Money Saver wrote this post breaking down how to take advantage the Regal Crown Club to earn loyalty rewards for your movie-going.
Christine from Northern Cheapskate breaks down how to use credit card rewards and qualifying purchases to save on movie tickets.
Sarah from Organized Mom wrote this post recently about how to save money on movie-going with Fandango.
Whitney Sparks, who teaches coupon classes and financial coaching, suggests inquiring about refillable plastic popcorn and soda containers at your local theater.
What are you dying to see this weekend? And how much will you pay for it?
I’ve been trying to manipulate the boyfriend into seeing Side Effects with me, to no avail, for, oh, I’d say, the past two months. I haven’t tried this tactic yet – but I have a feeling it might work.
Normally, I discourage the consumption of movie theater food because A) I’m not entirely sure what’s in it B) It’s way too expensive C) It’s almost impossible not to enter a food coma in front of the big screen and go completely overboard. However, my favorite saying is “If it’s free, it’s for me,” so I’ll eat just about anything with a coupon (at least I’ll lift the ban for Dan).
Score! Check out this free popcorn coupon I snipped for Cinemark. I also have a coupon for $3 off a Zap pack (which includes pop corn, candy, and a drink) for Regal Cinemas.
What movie are you dying to see this weekend?
I’m hearing a lot of singletons complain about all the suffocating pressure to be part of a couple and receive flowers today. You know, guys: I hear ya. To be perfectly honest, Valentine’s Day should be about love. You can love anyone. The most important person you should love is yourself. So if you’re not dating/married to someone who’ll spoil you rotten today, spoil yourself. Go out for a feast with your friends. Do something crafty with your kids. Take a bubble bath and read a book!
It’s still nice to feel a little spoiled though. Which is why it’s important to coupon your way through Valentine’s Day so you get a little extra something for free. It’s not too late to plan a fun night for less. Make sure you follow me in the SnipSnap app and check out my Valentine’s Day coupon bundle to see all the ways you can score free food, clothes, and fun tonight!
