Post-Easter Candy Clearance: How Mobile Coupons Make Peeps Even Cheaper

Happy Monday!Screen Shot 2013-04-01 at 1.02.51 PM

I hope you had a fantastic weekend and the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is for me today. You might think the Easter party is over and today’s just supposed to be a boring back-to-work routine, but you couldn’t be more wrong. In the same way you can save a ton of money stocking up on clothing and home accessories during after Christmas sales, you can save yourself cash and headaches for the rest of the year by stocking up on candy after Easter. Maggie from one of my favorite coupon blogs, Family Frugal Fun, posted this excellent guide to how and why you should shop seasonal candy sales. A lot of Easter candy is pretty definitively Easter-themed, but a lot of it is simply bright and pastel, perfect for summer sleepovers, baking, birthday parties, picnics, and gifts/favors.

Bonus Mobile Couponing Tips: Remember, you don’t have to take even the ridiculously low sale prices oScreen Shot 2013-04-01 at 1.02.27 PMf Easter candy at face value. Here’s how you can save even more money with your mobile phone:

SnipSnap: Think all of the Easter candy coupons in the SnipSnap app expired last month? You’re wrong! just search “Candy” in the search bar of the Discover screen to pull up current offers for spring chocolate and marshmallow treats.Screen Shot 2013-04-01 at 1.03.06 PM

Ibotta: There are still some Easter candy offers in the Ibotta app! Earn money back on peeps, Starburst, M&Ms, and Reese’s. (New to Ibotta? Read one of my recent reviews.)

Shopkick: If you’re planning an ice cream party with all the Easter candy you scored for next to nothing, there’s a coupon for $1 off hot fudge sauce in the shopkick app now. (New to shopkick, read one of my recent reviews here.)

REMEMBER: You can stack Ibotta offers with SnipSnap and shopkick store coupons. Since Ibotta offers require you to scan your receipt yourself and SnipSnap/shopkick coupons require your cashier, the two kinds of savings are redeemed independently of each other and can therefor be combined.
