Last night, I got to test out the Bath & Body Works app for the first time. I had a lot of fun!
The BBW app is extremely attractive, interactive, social, and mobile coupon friendly. Score.
What I love:
- Scratch-off Mobile Coupons: When I walked into my BBW, I got to virtually “scratch off” an exclusive in-store coupon code good for 20% off my total purchase. I love the creative thought BBW put into developing a unique way for shoppers to access in-app coupons. I also love how easy the coupons are to redeem. My coupon displayed a code that I read to my cashier and the transaction was effortless. But BBW app coupons do put the pressure on: once you decide to redeem an offer, you only have 15 minutes to use it – and you’re faced with an actual ticking clock. (I’ll admit, this feature is kind of exciting and makes buying body lotion feel as super hero as disarming a bomb.)
- Points for Free Products: BBW is amazing at rewarding its customers. I always get print coupons with my purchases, and, this store visit, I also got a survey opportunity, good for $10 off my next $30 purchase with my receipt. Now, with the BBW app, I can use my receipts to earn points I can redeem for free products. Earn 500 points for scanning your receipt bar code into the app, 250 points for checking into a BBW store (1 check-in/day, 6/month), and 25 points for completing interactive puzzle games. The rewards line-up is pretty sweet too: 1000 points gets you a free antibacterial hand gel and 5500 points gets you a free, full sized Signature Collection item. Point rewards are great, because there’s no purchase required to redeem them.
- Access to BBW Facebook/ Twitter Feeds: It’s easy to follow BBW through its app (and you really should since BBW utilizes Facebook offers) **Psst! “Like” BBW on Facebook and you could claim an offer for a FREE aromatherapy body lotion NOW.** and I like to have easy access to what’s going on in BBW world while I’m shopping, in case there are additional couponing opportunities floating around in the social network-sphere.
What I’d change:
- I have pretty much no patience for puzzles and they seem out of place in the app, so I’m not going to use them to get points. I’d love other fun ways to rack up my earning potential, though, like product quizzes or surveys that engage me in what I love about BBW even more.
Overall: A+! I’m super-excited to collect enough points to receive a free Vanilla Bean Noel Lotion this year. Because this is the sad reality of my Vanilla Bean Lotion supply right now:
